Leash Training

The way I teach you to work with your dog on leash is to conclude in the ability to no longer require equipment. Your dog will mirror your movement forwards, back, and side to side on and off leash. I do not use treats in my training method.

Leash Training Sessions are $100 per 1 hour session. However, I never push a dog past exhaustion and some can only handle 30 mins - 45 mins at a time. A minimum of 6 sessions are recommended.

We first heard about Jax through a family friend, who brought both her dogs to Jax for training. With our first child coming, my anxiety level over our dogs behaviour was through the roof. Jax was suggested and having her work with Rascal and Pluto was the best possible decision we could have made. I was at my wits end with my two big rescues from the reserve. The big girl (110lbs) was getting more reactive, pulling me over when she lunged at other dogs. The other one (90 lbs) just followed her lead. Jax was my last resort, recommended to me as 'Alberta's Cesar Milan'. And she didn't disappoint. One month with her and my reactive, barking, out-of-control dogs became my pack, following my lead, doing what I wanted when I wanted it. No more hiding until dark to walk when no other dogs were out. No more avoiding having guests over. No more feeling ashamed and like a failure. I simply have no words to describe the miracle that Jax performed. If I could give her a rating of 100/5 I would. But 5/5 is the most I'm allowed! Tempest and Zeke say thanks. And so do I. I have worked with and trained dogs all of my life. Three years ago I felt ready to move into breeding top Australian Shepherds (Big Rock Australian Shepherds in Okotoks, AB) for conformation, agility and obedience. I currently have a pack of 6 (a top in Canada male Aussie stud, and two females; one imported from Europe and the other a female puppy from a recent litter of 11 from my breeding pair. I also have 2 Golden retriever pets, and a sheltie. My male Aussie in 2022 was the top puppy in Canada and in the top 10 of all Australian Shepherds. Something changed in my pack when I chose to keep the puppy Aussie. My Golden retriever female became aggressive towards the puppy and possessive of me and everything else, bones, food, balls, etc. I tried everything in my tool box and then call Jax. I have learned a whole new world of communication with my dogs; not just my retriever but my whole pack. Sometimes you just need a bigger tool box!. I am still learning and cannot wait to see how this learning and training is going to help better balance my pack, my relationship with them, and help my dogs reach their potential (without me losing my sanity) in and out of the ring. Highly, highly recommend.
